Noongar Interpretive Panels
Like the rest of the Perth metro area, Elizabeth Quay is built on traditional Noongar land.
The MRA commissioned a sculpture garden which tells a story of two brothers who swam in these waters on a full moon only to be banished and turned in to sea lions as swimming there was against Noongar Lore.
We were asked to design and illustrate a series of interpretive panels to explain the story, the six seasons of the Noongar year and the traditional owners’ deep understanding of astronomy and the night sky.
